The SDP governorship candidate in the last gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Barr Natasha Akpoti is set to reward first-class graduates of Kogi-owned Prince Abubakar Audu University, PAAU, who were awarded N2,000 naira for their sterling academic performance.
Recall that the news of N2,000 award given to the 95 first class graduates of Kogi State University now known as Prince Abubakar Audu University has been generating a lot of reactions on social media.
In a related development, many Nigerians kicked against the amount of money given to the first class graduates and described it as a means of discouraging academic excellence while others noted that the students should have been recognized in a more dignified way.
However, while reacting to the trending news, Natasha Akpoti in her usual manner requested for the details of the students.
Although, Akpoti has not disclosed her plans for the students, with her comment, it is believed that she might want to reward the outstanding students in a better way to encourage other students.
