Recalled
that DVAA (as he is called by his supporters), contested for the same
post on the platform of ADC in the 2019 general election where he pulled
a total of 131,171 votes in less than four months.
The
former Zenith bank management staff also known for his "social
Contract" manifestos officially declared to contest in the forthcoming
general elections. The event, contrary to what many envisioned to be
done quietly pulled out mammoth crowds as men, women, youth and various
party leaders across the district came out en-masse to show solidarity
with the mandate.
Dr.
Victor Adoji during his declaration speeches both at the ward and Zonal
levels stated that "one Key to changing the current ineffectiveness is
to make and implement the right policies and law that would
inadvertently make the system works. He larment huge debts the country
has incured and its lethal effects on the generations unborn and
admitted that, though he is not perfect, if elected, he will beat
expectations. The event was a huge success, especially as Kogi East
central city Anyigba was shot down Thursday afternoon in commemorations.
However,
one notable thing at the event was an aging woman who came out to make a
contribution of One hundred Naira (in fifty Naira denominations) to the
success of his election. According to her, the people believed in him
and have found a future they could not secure for their children in him.
She wishes that DVAA stands tall to reshape the trend.
Meanwhile,
he has also expressed a profound gratitude for the overwhelming turnout
of the people during the declaration ceremony.
His words "APPRECIATION
On
Thursday (27/01/2022), I formally declared my intention to represent
the wonderful and enterprising people of Kog-East (which includes
non-Igala/Bassa people resident within our geography) in the 10th
Senate.
I am unable to
fathom the raison d'etre behind the tumultuous turnout and should
therefore logically infer that, the citizens are tired of excuses and
'desperately' desire a way out of the woods/doldrums.
Words
are inadequate to convey my deep appreciation and huge debt of
gratitude. But, I assure you that I got your message(s) and further
reaffirm my commitment to being the BRIGDE between the youths and the
aged, the bridge between exclusion of our people and their inclusion in
project Nigeria, the bridge between pro-poor policies and populist
policies, the bridge between the led and the leaders and the bridge
between failed/failing poverty reduction interventions and wealth
creation initiatives.
And
best aspect of all that transpired: At one of the intent declaration
ceremonies, I got the two Fifty Naira (N100) notes (pictured) from an
aged woman as her contribution to achieving my/our representation
desire. This for me is as much the best contribution-ever as it is
indicative of the veracity and acceptability of our interventionist
clamor as a people under the auspices of our great Party, the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP). While it is not meant to derogate the
non-pecuniary contributions of the thousands that trooped out, these
Naira notes are for me a collectors' item indeed.
That
said, I must once more register sincere and deep-seated gratitude to
everyone for such an unusual support which mildly implies an indication
of bigger things to come.
