The Honorable Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Steel Development, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has congratulate Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on his conferment of a Honorary Doctorate Degree at the Sixth Convocation Ceremonies of the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.
The Federal Lawmaker while congratulating the Governor, made eulogies of his perfect representation of Youths in Leadership, commitment to education development, robust budgetary provisions for the education sector and most importantly, the immortalization of the State institution's founder, Late Prince Abubakar Audu.
Earlier before the ceremony started proper, the awardee who triples as Visitor and Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello Inaugurated Administrative blocks, Roads, Entrepreneurship Centre, Cashew Processing Factory, and other projects across the University.
Highlights of the day was the formal conferment of the Doctorate Degree(Honorary Causa) on the Governor with a Degree of Doctor of Public Finance. Also awarded was Sen. Jibrin Isah Echocho with a Degree of Doctor of Education Administration/Planning and Alhaji Dahiru Mangal with a Doctor of Business Administration by the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Marietu Ohunene Tenuche.
Earlier, the Chancellor of the University while presenting the award of Post Graduate Diplomas, Masters Degrees and Doctor of Philosophies to the graduants, Congratulated them for the successful completion of their programs adding that their certification is on the recommendation of the Senate and the approval of council after finding them worthy of their certificates in both Character and Learning.
The Convocation which was well attended by notable dignitaries from all spheres of the society is a combined ceremony for the 2014/2015 to 2019/2020 academic sessions of the University.
