Centre
for Africa Liberation and Socio- Economic Rights(CALSER),says the
appointment of Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouk as the pioneer Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development by
President Muhammadu Buhari was a round peg in a round hole, to drive
the socioeconomic development of Nigeria.
The
centre in a media statement released by it's Executive Director,Dr
Abubakar Gana expressed satisfaction with the choice of the Minister and
the Ministry's activities, towards addressing poverty eradication and
victims of Boko Haram,flood ravaged communities,natural disaster,armed
banditry and other insurgent attacks, will be a lasting legacies of the
present administration.
According
to Ajibola who stood in for the Executive Director, the choice of
Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouk had doused the general outcry of lack of
political will on the part of government towards the vulnerable and
provision of social services in Nigeria.
He
says the response team of the new Ministry towards emergencies of Boko
Haram attacks and other natural phenomenon is an indication of the
choice of the new Minister as a well thought out decision.
He
however warned detractors and critics of goverrment officials, programs
and policies to steer clear of the patriotic efforts being deployed to
ensure seamless social equilibrium in the country, by the new Ministry.
Sadiya's
strides in the distribution of palliatives during the world ravaged
COVID-19, emergencies arising from natural and Boko Haram attacks,as
well as a well refined social investment program policy, had being a
subject of endorsement by many bodies, the recent one was from Citizens
Rights Watch (CRW),and Centre for Aftican Liberation and Socioeconomic
