Over the years social media, such as Facebook, Whatsapp, twitter,
instagram etc had contributed immensely to politics nationwide, however
it's great influence cannot be undermine. Very important to note is the
fact that this Various platforms has help to bring closer far and near
communities within Nigeria, Nigerians at home and in diaspora as well
help to share view and discuss crucial issues as regarding the interest
of the masses. The social media space in time of politics is of two
divides, those who argue-for and those who argue-against. This
particular stance had birth a lot of benefits yet huge misappropriation.
Obviously it is wrongly believed and agreed by many individuals and groups that all politicians are bad but to me such assertions has no factual rigor should not be accepted by any sanitary manner. Meanwhile it's very important we remind ourselves that yet there are still many good politicians who are trying their best to improve upon the welfare of those they owe their best.
The most disgusting is the fact that many youths within Dekina local government has taken social media criticism and praise singing as business, at a point of political struggle they will praise the politicians to get paid instantly yet expect some later benefits either win or lose. They don't care to know how much is the worth of this same politician or even care to calculate how much he/she spent to settle bill of individuals within the region they represents ranging from payment of WAEC, NECO, JAMB, SCHOOL and FEES AT ALL LEVELS. let's take critical look at this simple analysis. If a politician pays N50,000 school fees for 20 persons among his supporters it's amount to N100000.
Meanwhile, these are not the only persons that supported him or her, there is still a large share population of his supporters and the whole masses he owe dividends which there is need for him to touch. Hence he also needs to execute projects, cater for the remaining population to enjoy some dividends. This calls for sober reflection on why some individuals will still request a mandatory financial settlement after the struggle whether the politician win or loose, I wonder if it's business or the politicians sign an agreement to make such financial settlement at the end of the day?
Get your antidote if you belong to the class of those folks that insult, and criticize the same politician whom you market, praise and hail inorder to defame him simply because your selfish gain is not forth coming as expected. Learn to appreciate the little he has done for you and know that he equally do same for others and stop making yourself a laughing stock in public.
Supporting any politician is an individual choice and if you choose to support anyone it should be out of good intent, and don't expect too much in return take your time to develop yourself and stop the blame game. Politicians are not your business profit account where you withdraw your interest at the end of business term. Get yourself a job or profitable business and stay off social rancor because it's a misplacement of priority and lost of integrity. A word is enough for the wise.
