Former Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris left Kogi Goverrment House in January 2012, eight years ago after spending nine years of unequalled tenure with his other colleagues that resumed office in 2003, under the platform of People's Democratic Party PDP.

Aside the legacies of good governance,acceptability,equity and popularity, the goverrment he command between the period under review, Idris kept waxing stronger politically and otherwise in all ramifications both locally and Nationally.

Ex Kogi governor stands out as one of the former governor's under the platform of PDP that had remained resolute and firm in the party,not minding all hurdles,his loyalty to the party is unwavering.

His consistence in the PDP saw him installing his successor,Capt Idris Wada in 2012 and also campaigned vigorously for his return,gone round all the 21 Local Government to canvass for his re-election,which he actually won,but was robbed .

In the current Nigerian political history,many of the governor's under PDP in the last eight years have either gone into the cooler,lost relevance,political oblivion or defected to the ruling or any other political party,except Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.

The recent events manifested during his private visit to Kogi state and condolence journey to commiserate with some top politicians, friends,associates and traditional rulers showed how the former governor is still living in his glory.

Governor Idris intention was not to create any political scene or cause for gathering, but the mere fact that he was unavoidably on holidays, before the sad incidence took place and his usual way of paying condolences occassioned the journey to Kogi .

Idris on arrival met a tumultuous welcome from Kogi local government to Lokoja local government,as some of the supporters, followers and well wishers after catching his glimpse or got the news of his visit,made away to his residence in lokoja ahead of his coming home .

The level of acceptance of the former governor ibrahim Idris was so overwhelming that he hurriedly live for Kogi east for more condolence visit to his people.

While in Idah at the residence of the late Former PDP Chairman,Alhaji Shaibu Abu ,his residence was locked down as emissaries drafted by political enemies to embarrass him became his ardent supporters chanting his nickname,Ibro 'Na Allah'

While in Kogi east,his well wishers cut across political divide not for anything but his high level political tolerance, philanthropy and high regard for religious tolerance.

It is on record that Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was the only Governor in Kogi, Nigeria that had built many Churches and Mosques and still sustained the gesture not for political or any other reasons after he left office.

Another thing you cannot take away from the former governor is his ressolve to ardently remain a strong pillar in the People's Democratic Party (PDP),at all levels,not as card carrying member alone,but his financial contributions.

Former Governor's tour of his domain became uncontrollable,as people from all walks of life in the nine local government areas of Kogi state,ransacked his movement to Omala,Icheke,Anyigba both on a condolence and inspection of the new mosque under construction.

Alhaji ibrahim Idris as a member of BOT of PDP also wield alot of powers in the affairs of the party at National,Regional and State levels.

The last was the coordinator Atiku/Obi campaign organisation for Kogi state geared towards the election of former Vice President and PDP Presidential candidate in the February general election,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON.

During his nine years stint in Lugard house,Ibrahim Idris held several think tank position in the party at the North Central axis, were he still command alot of respect in PDP.

The last visit of the former governor Ibrahim Idris has detonated the growing insinuation that he is now living in his past glory,but still living in his glory,base on the support, solidarity and magnanimity to the leader of our time.

Governor Idris who was expected to spend not less than three days on the familiarisation tour,end up spending just a night because of the love,affection and solidarity displayed by Youths, Women,Men and the political class .

From the foregoing,the ex governor is still regarded as the incontrovertible political leader of Kogi state to be reckoned with in all dispensation.
