The immediate past Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Professor Seidu Onailo Mohammed has congratulated the 'governor elect' of Kogi State, Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello.
In a statement signed by his Personal Assistant on Political Matters, Comrade Moses Abdullahi, the renowned Professor of Aerospace Survey, Geo-Information and Earth Observation, thanked his supporters for turning out in their numbers and vote the governor as the 5th Executive Governor of the state.
According to the statement, Prof Mohammed reiterated his commitment for
his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and thank President
Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s leadership for coming out victorious in
both Bayesa and Kogi polls.
The statement reads in part:
"I want to express my heartwarming gratitude to my supporters who came out en masse to cast their votes in support of our candidate. I want to assure everyone of you that your efforts shall not be in vain.
"Politics is indeed local and the people have spoken by giving their mandates to Alhaji Yahaya Bello. The election has come and gone but Kogi state still remains and it should be seen as our collective project regardless of party’s affiliation. This therefore calls for blending of synergies towards the prosperity of our golden state as it is generally believed that, in every contest, there must always be a winner.
"I urge members of the opposition parties and those who are aggrieved by the outcome of the election to be more civil and accept it as their electoral fate. The opposition should endeavor to utilize this fresh opportunity to work together with the governor elect aimed at bettering the lot of the state.
"While we all look forward to a successful tenure under the leadership of the governor elect, it is imperative to maintain that, the development and growth of any land lies in the commitments of its people, the loyalty of its citizens and the proactive policy and progroammes of its leadership".
Recall that Prof Mohammed immediately after the APC gubernatorial primaries joined voices to clamour for the reelection of Alh Yahaya Bello.
