THE Kogi State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mouktar Atimah, has said the people are waiting for his party to save them from the “present predicament.”
He spoke in Lokoja at the party’s executive and stakeholders meeting.
Atimah said the residents are putting their hopes in the SDP to save them.
He said the party will not only overcome the disqualification of its governorship candidate, Natasha Akpoti, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), but will also win the election.
Atimah said: “We are prepared to win the poll. We will overcome the illegal disqualification and salvage Kogi State people.
“They are hoping on us to save them from the present predicament. We cannot afford to fail them. The party will set a record in Nigeria by producing the first female elected governor.”
The Director General, Natasha/Khalid Campaign Organisation, Dr. Baba Abdul, said SDP members have shown commitment by supporting it.
He urged them not to relent in selling the party’s vision.
