It really does not matter what mode of primary election the National Headquarters of All Progressive Parry,APC foists on the Kogi State chapter of the party in the run up to the November 16, 2019 gubernatorial election; what is of Paramount importance is the perceptions  of the larger majority of the citizens of Kogi are about their state, their individual and collective future aspirations and their resolve in the next four years.

The works and energy the progressive party members in Kogi state deployed in their struggle for Change from the  status quo, if indeed they are tired

The All Progressive Congress, APC in 2014/2015 general elections vividly captured the mind and soul of Nigerians on  how a determined and focused people or political party can remove an incumbent failing and non performing regime.

While the PDP the incumbent regime at the time was busy looking for the secondary school certificate of the then General Muhammadu Buhari, now President Muhammadu Buhari and other mundane immaterial matters, the APC was dutifully engaged in working themselves into the mind and soul of the electorates who had become tremendously disenchanted With the lacklustre performance of the incumbent.

In Kogi state of today, to say the people are fed up and tired with the arrogance, impunity and the nonperformance of the government  is to be modest with the fact.

What then should be done to deliver the people from further pains and agony of juvenile maladministration is not to keep complaining, remain mute, dumb and docile in the face of credible alternatives.

If direct mode of primary elections as had  been suggested is what the party finally adopts and are interested in, regardless of their opinions, they should not allow that constitute any fear. They should rather borrow solace in what God is cooking between Bello, Edward and Achuba and realizes that God of babel is very actively alive.

When a group of wicked people are gathered in an unholy alliances against the program and projects of Heavens, the battle of wits amongst them will nurture a discordant posturing and tunes, tearing apart their interests, positions and resolutions.

The resultant outcome will then be what Professor Chinua Achebe posited as things falling apart, with the central therefore never able hold.

If not for Heavens, how are we to explain the great, mighty and self damaging confessions and revelations oozing out of the mouth of the constitutionally the second most powerful person in the Bello administration ?

It was foretold shortly after the regime was foisted on the state that such drama as now playing out was imminent.

An unholy association against the project of God that Kogi State and people  are will see to it that they must of a sure scatter. It was just a matter of time, and the time is now

Surprisingly, Hon Simon Achuba, reeling out statistics of the money that had come to Kogi state Government since Yahaya Bello was made Governor was as revealing,as self indicting and as damaging as it possibly could be.

Hear Achuba !

"When we assumed office kogi wage bill for the  state and local government workers was N5.8B without (before) screening.
N5.8B x 38 months =N220B ( Total monthly wage bill for 38 months before screening)

Total money received for 38months = N294B.
We have balance left of N74B, after staff screening

Kogi wage bill for State and local government workers was N4.4B after screening we saved N1.4B

N4.4B x 38 months =N167B

Total money received for 38months= N294B.

We should have balance left of N127B after complete payment of salary to state and local government workers

Where then is the money?"

Part of the questions begging for answers from the above Achubalian revelation is why were Kogi civil servants owed staggering numbers of months of salary arrears ?

Achuba's other damning and damaging revelations concerns security and the large cache of arms and ammunitions acquired by the government of Kogi state. This is extremely worrisome.

According to  Achuba, the state of insecurity in the state is both grave and dangerous. Urgent calls must be sent to the elders, political and religious leaders both within the state and to Nigeria, and Nigerians at large to kindly reach out to the President and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency ensures that Hon Simon Achuba's revelations are not  trivialised and put under the carpet

The people of Kogi State themselves must not mute, they must  vigorously come out and  shout to God of Heavens and to the appropriate quarters in the face of these grave and sordid and frightening revelations, coming out from Lugard House

The level of thuggery and thuggish displayed during the last elecions in Kogi State is extremely worrisome and threatening. It ought to have been looked into and investigated.

The past reported cases  of alleged importation of illegal arms and military wares linked with the Kogi State was glossed over, portraying the danger lurking ahead of the 2019 gubernatorial elections in the state

Information from the media revealed that the illegal arms were moved into the state and initially delivered to a location in Commissioner’s Quarters in Lokoja but was immediately relocated to another location in Lokoja after the information was leaked to security operatives.

The development is particularly worrisome and grave. According to Achuba, thugs have resorted to the use of arms to achieve the political aspirations of their principal ahead of the November election.

Top-notch political leader in the state was said to have immediately reported the terrible development to the Inspector General of Police which prompted the operatives of the Special Anti Robbery squad SARS on Saturday 27 July 2019 to invade the resident of a top party stalwart

Democracy is not just about winning elections the atmosphere for it to thrive, grow and deliver dividends can never and must never be through thuggery and violence.

Nigerians are waiting to see and hear what President Muhammadu Buhari's government reactions to these thoroughly indicting Achubalian revelations will be.

The Government must not allow the security of lives and property of the people of Kogi State  be compromised on the alter of political party loyalty

It is criminal to remain silent in the face of tyranny and threats to lives, the best way despotic leaders wins is by making sure the vocal segment of the society remains mute, docile and voiceless.

In the words of the great late Ethiopian Emperor, Haile Selassie,

"Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who should have acted, the indifference of those who should have known better, the silence of the voice of justice, when it mattered most that made it possible for evil to triumph".

As citizens of Nigeria, Kogi people are known to be cultured and of good behaviour and character. This is the right time to ginger them to be poised and be ready with their PVC to dictate legally what comes of their lives in the next dour years through the  November 16th 2019. No one must deny them that right.

All hands must be on desk to RESCUE Kogi state come November 2019.
