Author of the essay “Mothers and Men” (which won the Gerald Kraak prize), Olutimehin Adegbeye, has accused Lagos socialite and owner of Club Q, Pretty Mike of raping her when she was 16-year-old.
In a series of posts on her Twitter page late on Sunday, Olutimehin revealed that the unnamed rapist in her non-fiction piece is Pretty Mike who runs Club Q located in Ikeja.
She further informed that horrible experience caused her to have a phantom period at the time.
According to Olutimehin, her brother confronted Pretty Mike over the incident but his response was essentially, “guy, you know how it is now”.
Olutimehin said the ugly incident happened one afternoon when Pretty Mike locked her in a room after she returned from school and raped her violently.
At the time of filing this report, Pretty Mike was yet to react to the rape allegations leveled against him by Olutimehin.
